Hailing from Kingston Jamaica, Debbie Deer is a theatre and digital arts buff turned XR creator! She is a playwright, director, producer and performer. In 2022, Debbie wrote, directed and produced the Nefertiti (The Beautiful One Has Come) VR film which was featured in Toronto International Film Festivals 'Deep Focus'. Debbie has also worked with organizations such as Luminato festival as a visual lead. When she is not in front of the stage or camera, Debbie is the CEO/Founder of her multi-media companies Debbie Deer Productions and Orion Digital Innovations and Creations Inc. As a dancer and actor, Debbie has been featured in Luminato Festivals 'What We Leave Behind' (2021) and Buddies in Bad Times 'Femme De La Creme' (2018). Debbie also wrote, directed and produced her debut play 'Exmas' which was performed at Buddies in Bad Times in 2013. Debbie has also appeared in the 'Nikitta' and 'Rookie Blue' TV Shows and has hosted several television and social media productions including 'Inn24 News' (2020). In her formative years, Debbie was enrolled in the Jamaica Musical Theatre Company acting in productions such as 'The Lion King' and 'Cinderella'.
Ari Tarr started his theater career starring off-broadway and regional theater as a member of the flying Karamazov Brothers. He attained a degree in multimedia Theater Acting/Directing, under Joanne Akalytis at Bard College, with physical theater mask training with NYU Tisch Grad Director Jim Calder and puppetry with Basil Twist. Tarr is the world's most experienced performer of live VR productions, and is currently the VR acting UI consultant, trainer, and lead host of the multi award-winning Adventure Lab (one of only two professional VR theatre platforms) In 2015 Tarr co-founded a startup for creating VR theater performance tools, working with clients like Occipital and Jaunt VR. He then joined River XR content Studios working with clients like High Fidelity, Bjork and Coldplay. Currently he is a full-time XR immersive theater actor and designer. His XR Theater projects have been featured in the New York Times, Forbes, NBC and Vice.
